The combination of traditional mediterranean architecture and contemporary bio-solar and ecological elements contributes to an absolute up-to-date housedesign. The site, the big windows facing south, the thick walls with only a few small openings to the north, and the layout of the different spaces, all obey the course of the sun.
Everything has been thought over for complete adaptation to the light and the warmth of the sun, the winds and the surrounding, in order to obtain a natural conditioning of temperature, humidity and light.
The house is situated on the road from Campoamor to las Filipinas, at about
3km from the Campoamor beaches, just opposite the complex "las Ocas".
The location on the top edge of the valley offers superb views over the pinetrees of la Dehesa de Campoamor, to the sea with the Mar Menor Islands in the horizon. We have the local golf courses within a radius of 1 km.
The house is being built on one level, at about 1’5 m above the ground. Only the living room situated in a huge cubic block emerges like a crow’s nest controlling the surroundings and monopolizing the horizon.
We have deliberately turned our back to the road on the north, isolating us from the outer world, opening the house completely to the south, centering life in quiet, comfortable, intimate spaces bathed in light and sun facing a lovely view.
The façade and exterior walls have been white plastered in a rustic
style. Some of the spaces have been differentiated using natural painting
with earth colour pigments or blue chalk.

This is our dream house that has those things that make it so intimate and
strong and functional at
a time. It lives on its surroundings, on nature, it watches and controlls
as a castle its dominions from above, and enjoys it from its spaces, routes
and corners. It also looks for protection when the weather is bad and there
is a need to turn aside searching for a safe and warm interior, the stone
wall, the fire.
